Homework

  • Your child will receive homework from different subjects that will need to be completed.

  • Homework will be set regularly and at the College we believe that completing homework and engaging in home study will support your son’s learning.

  • As a guide, your son will receive between 45 and 75 minutes homework per evening, five nights a week.

Advice From Mr Sozio (Director of Learning and Teaching)

I encourage that your son commences their homework session by spending 10-15 minutes reviewing and reflecting on their learning throughout the day. If a student does not look at what they are learning for a second time within 24 hours, they could forget up to 80% of the detail. By reviewing and reflecting on the work, this also provides the opportunity to reflect on what they found difficult and will need to follow up.

As added support to your son, the College offers Homework Club in the Narandha Learning Centre from 2.05-2.55pm on Monday through to Friday. Library staff, teachers and Learning Support Staff will be available to support your son during this time. We have many students at the College who take advantage of this excellent opportunity.

There is a Bus available from school at 2.55 to transport boys into Wollongong.
